Organic Apiculture

Beekeeping is an important activity that contributes to the protection of the environment and the agro-forestry production through the pollination of bees. The classification of organic bee products is directly related to the characteristics of treatment of hives and respect for the environment. This qualification also depends on the conditions of extraction, processing and storage of bee products.

The hives must be constructed of natural materials which do not cause pollution to the environment or the apiculture products and must be located in areas also considered organic, or pesticide-free areas and far from any kind of human construction that can affect to beekeeping, like sewage treatment sewage plants, chemical plants, industrial centers, etc.

The bees should count on sufficient supplies of natural nectar and pollen, as well as access to water and can not be artificially fed with sugar or molasses. Very common practice among conventional apiaries to increase the honey production, as a bee produces only about 5 g of honey per year. If the bees get sick, they should be isolated and can not be treated with any antibiotics or chemicals. All materials used, since the management of the hives to the final products shall be of stainless steel, covered with wax, or made of toxic materials.

Thus, the certified organic is the true guarantee the quality of bee products. That along with a control officer, also ensures the product origin and traceability of the production and national levels. Purchasing a MN Propolis Organics product is sure to have a lot of quality that respects the environment, nature and especially health.
