The Agaricus
Mushrooms are consumed and enjoyed by man for hundreds of years.
The mushroom Agaricus blazei Murrill was discovered in the 70’s, in highland areas of Atlantic Forest in southern Sao Paulo State where it was widely researched and studied by numerous experts from Brazil and is currently the subject of scientific research around the world, due to its large amount of nutrients.
The mushroom Agaricus blazei Murrill is popularly known as "mushroom of the sun", because it grows in the open field, and it is also known as mushroom pity, medicinal mushroom, mushroom princess, mushroom-of-God, mushroom of life and mushroom of the gods.
The mushroom Agaricus blazei Murrill is proteic and contains vitamins such as thiamine (vitamin B1), riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3), pyridoxine (vitamin B6), cobalamin (vitamin B12), pantothenic acid, biotin (vitamin H) folic acid, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), tocopherol (vitamin E), quinone (vitamin K), amino acids such as arginine and glutamine, ergosterol, minerals such as phosphorus, iron, calcium and several other components. But beyond these nutrients mentioned above, we find glyco-proteins, steroids, and polysaccharides such as beta-glucan.
According to scientists, its unique combination of polysaccharides such as beta-glucan, lipids, proteins and minerals can stimulate the production of defense cells of the body, thus reducing the amount of disease.
Many therapeutic properties are attributed to the mushroom Agaricus blazei Murrill as assisting in the neutralization of free radicals acting as an antioxidant and aid in strengthening of the immune system.
